This lace shawl is a good project if you are new at lace.
This all over lace pattern is worked in garter stitch with lace work being done on both sides of the pattern. The lace is broken up at different widths with garter stitch rows.
The pattern includes both charts and written directions.
It is suitable for lace weight or light fingering weight yarns.
I used most all of 2 skeins (1 each color) of Malibrigo Lace weight , 470 yards/430 meters of each, but a few test knitters used just over 500 yards.
I’d love to see this knit in a gradient colorway!
It is triangular in shape but slightly irregular… the increasing is done along one side, which then becomes the top of the shawl.
Size: Triangular shaped – 58 in / 148 cm wide at top x 27 in/69 cm deep at point
Yarn:Malabrigo Lace, 1.76 oz/ 50 g, 470 yrds/430 m, 100% Baby merino wool, 1 skein of Polar Morn and
1 skein StoneBlue
Gauge:32 sts and 32 rows equals 4 in / 10 cm
Tools and such: Knit on needles size US 2/2.5 mm. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge. Though
this is a shawl and matching gauge is not that important, you might need more or less yarn depending
on your gauge.
