You don’t need to be a member of Ravelry to purchase the pattern.

flags02 In honor of the Olympics 2016, I designed this cowl using the traditional “flags” pattern. It is a quick and easy project.

Knit in the round using knit and purl stitches to create the textured pattern.

The flag pattern grows as you knit… there are three different size of flags included in the cowl.

The pattern is both written out and charted.

I had only a few yards of yarn left when done, so it will use up an entire skein of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light!

flags01

Size: 25in / 63cm around and 12in / 30cm wide

Yarn: Madeline Tosh, Tosh Merino Light, 410 yards, fingering weight

Gauge: 32 sts and 40 rows equals 4 in / 10 cm

Tools and such: Knit on circular or double pointed needles size US 2/2.5 mm. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge. Though matching gauge is not that important, you might need more or less yarn depending on your gauge.
