Non knitting post about candle making First the old candles were broken up into small bits. We scraped the sides of candles with funky stuff (like glitter) on the outside. Jars! Some with wire handles on them, some waiting for wicks. Jars with wicks ready for wax.It was a great party. Everyone brought old jars – very one spreading the light! “Red” hot candle wax poured into jars with wicks. Wicks are tied around pencils and hang down into the jars while the wax is setting. Red “cool” candles. Another picture of the red candles as they are setting. Second batch of candle wax for melting. Thanks to Margaret for letting us use her outdoor griil. And thank goodness it didn’t rain! These candles will be white! Lots more broken up old candles on the stove to melt down. . . . and yet more jars.Any kind of jar will work!
